A Chinese Ghost Story
Description : The empire of Tang has enjoyed a hundred years of prosperity since its founding. However, calamities and dangers nearly always lurk within affluent times. A World Without Thieves
Description : Wang Bo (Andy Lau) and Wang Li (Rene Liu) should have made the perfect Bonnie and Clyde: the former a seasoned con man and master pickpocket from Hong Kong, the latter a grifter femme fatale from Taiwan. Partners in crime and passion, the couple swindle their way across China, until one fine day Li suddenly decides to call it quits, both to her egregious lifestyle and to her entanglement with Bo. Description : Director Feng Xiaogang is poised to bring audience to tears this summer in China?s major blockbuster film Aftershock. Budgeted at somewhere between $10-25 million, the disaster drama is based on the 1976 Tangshan earthquake that claimed the lives of atleast 240,000 people and severely injured a further 164,000, making the tragedy the largest earthquake of the 20th century by death toll. It deals with the heartbreaking fallout between a mother (Fan Xu) and her quake surviving daughter (Jingchu Zhang) and their eventual reconciliation. Media Asia has debuted the first trailer which in actuality is really more of a clip featuring a little girl waking up amidst of the corpses and devastation.
Description : During the Huaihai Campaign in the winter of 1948, Captain Gu misses the assembly signal and does not retreat his troop in time. All the 46 men in his unit dies as a result except himself. When he comes to in the hospital, he find his military rank stripped, as nobody knows him or believes his story. Battle of Wits

Beginning of the Great Revival

Description : In 1905, Sun Wen intends to come to Hong Kong (then a British colony) to discuss his plans for revolution with fellow Tongmenghui members to overthrow the corrupt and crumbling Qing Dynasty. Empress Dowager Cixi sends a group of assassins, led by Yan Xiaoguo, to kill Sun. Revolutionary Chen Shaobai arrives in Hong Kong a few days before Sun's arrival, to meet Li Yutang, a businessman who provides financial aid for the revolutionaries. As Sun Wen's arrival day draws near, trouble begins brewing in Hong Kong as Chen Shaobai's acquaintances are murdered and Chen himself is kidnapped by the assassins during a raid. Li Yutang decides to officially declare his support for the revolutionaries after the newspaper agency is closed by the British authorities, who do not interfere in China's political situation. Li rallies a group of men, including rickshaw pullers, hawkers and a beggar, to serve as bodyguards for Sun Wen when he arrives. Li's son Li Chongguang is chosen to act as a decoy for Sun Wen to divert the assassins away while Sun attends the meeting and leaves Hong Kong safely.

Though the sprig, named Scarlet, comes complete with a handful of bank notes, Ge panics, thinking he can't afford to raise a child, and reacts in callous fashion.Final section puts a pre-pubescent Scarlet (Long Li) centerstage as she deals with the stigma of having a mentally handicapped mother whose affection is both infinite and frequently inappropriate.
Description : Based on the life of legendary Chinese social philosopher Confucius (551-479 BCE). In the age of warring Chinese states, during which countless wars were waged to unify kingdoms, the King of Lu gets help from highly influential philosopher Confucius to regain his power. Confucius uses his intelligence and charisma to save the state of Lu from inner conflict and perpetual war. However, the political powerhouses of the state start to feel threatened by the philosopher, fearing that they may lose their control over the puppet king. Confucius goes willingly into exile, wandering from state to state without losing his ideals for peace and harmony.
